5 Minutes to Engage your Staff

Need a few quick exercises to introduce your staff to the #Choose Summerside concept? Here are a few you can use at your team meetings —  they’re quick, they’re easy and best of all, they’re fun team builders.

1. Place a stack of sticky notes and pens on the table and ask everyone to write down what comes to mind when you ask them to finish the statement “My favourite thing about Summerside is…”. Post the sticky notes on your staff room wall, or even in a public area where your clients can read them.

(Consider building on this idea – dedicate a wall to the idea and have customers fill one out as they’re leaving….)

2. Or, pick one of the topics below and have everyone provide an answer. Record the answers so you can access them later.  Use these points to share with customers, friends and on #Choose Summerside social media channels as well as on your own –and encourage your employees to do the same.

  • Best place to go for a walk
  • Favourite spot in town
  • What a tourist should absolutely see
  • Best spot for a family outing
  • Best winter activity
  • Best spot for a first date
  • Something everyone should know about Summerside
  • Best place to take photos
  • Your favourite Summerside memory

3. Ask a creative member of your team to volunteer to create an infographic or word cloud using the responses gathered from your staff. Don’t forget to put your company name on it, post it in a place where your customers can see it and share on #Choose Summerside social media channels.

4. Contact the #Choose Summerside team through the Chamber offices and book our large Choose photo frames and white boards to use for photo opportunities.

  • Use them in a staff meeting to take a photo of each of your employees proclaiming why they choose Summerside. Post one each week on your social channels.  Great profile for your staff and your company, while spreading the #Choose Summerside message.
  • Use them during a business promotion for a fun and easy photo booth setup for your customers and guests.
