Executive Director, Meetings and Conventions Prince Edward Island

With a dominant industry background in tourism development, consumer products, the food industry and international trade, Ann Worth has served in various leadership positions in the private and not for profit sector. Working closely with dynamic boards, staff and public-sector partners, leadership positions include her current role as the Executive Director of Meetings and Conventions Prince Edward Island where she works with a staff of six and a membership of 215 companies to promote PEI as an incredible destination for meetings and conventions. She has served as the Executive Director of the PEI Aquaculture Alliance, the Atlantic Canada Food Export Partnership and the PEI Food and Beverage Processors Association.

Ann has served in a variety of industry operational and sales positions with hotel and resort chains and food companies, including Holiday Inns, Delta Hotels, Howard Johnson, Rodd Hotels and Resorts, COWS Ice Cream, Anne of Green Gables Chocolates and Oxford Frozen Foods. Ann has operated her own maple syrup operation A Little Gift and Retail Specialty Food Gift Store In Good Taste featuring the products of over 100 giftware producers from Atlantic Canada.

Ann established her own consulting business Worth Consulting Group (WCG) in 2005 specializing in export/international business development with sector expertise in the seafood/ aquaculture, agri-food, tourism, advanced manufacturing and craft/giftware sectors.  Twelve years of professional project management has delivered over 110 consulting engagements working with Canadian, American and European companies. WCG provides business development focused expertise directed to buyer identification, market entry strategy development, strategic business planning, governance and export readiness training, professional facilitation, event management, marketing/sales management support, international market research and buyer/seller matchmaking.

Ann has served in various volunteer and board capacities including Provincial Chair of the Employers Committee on Workers Compensation, the PEI Adapt Council, Atlantic Canada Showcase and the PEI Tourism Motor Coach Committee. She has served on a variety of National and Provincial boards, business and research committees including Innovation PEI, Central Development Corporation of Prince Edward Island, the Atlantic Tourism and Hospitality Institute, PEI Shellfish Working Group, the PEI Aquaculture Lease Management Board, the National Aquaculture Research and Development Program, the PEI International Shellfish Festival and the Canadian Aquaculture Industry Alliance.

Ann resides in beautiful Bonshaw with husband Rick, son Carter and daughter Katie.
